POSITION SUMMARY
World of Illumination is seeking a CNC Operator to join our Production team. This role is responsible for safely loading and unloading raw materials, setting up equipment and accessories needed for production, and calibrating machinery in accordance with manufacturing guidelines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, safety-conscious, and able to adapt to changing projects and timelines.
Seeking Night Shift Operator – Shift Starts at 4:30 PM
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, calibrate, and operate CNC machinery in accordance with manufacturing guidelines and job specifications
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and cut files to determine machine settings and material requirements
- Operate CNC equipment to perform precision cutting on coroplast and related materials, monitoring output for accuracy and quality
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely, following material handling protocols
- Measure, inspect, and verify dimensions and calculations prior to and during machine setup to ensure conformance to specifications
- Identify, troubleshoot, and promptly report mechanical issues, material defects, or quality deviations to a supervisor
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor adjustments on CNC equipment to minimize downtime
- Adjust machine parameters (speed, feed rate, tooling) as needed to optimize cutting performance and material yield
- Maintain accurate production records, including output counts, downtime, and material usage
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards and OSHA guidelines
- Meet daily and weekly production goals and timelines while maintaining quality standards
- Collaborate with other production staff and shift leads to coordinate workflow and meet deadlines
- Maintain basic proficiency with computer systems and V-Carve or comparable CAM software
- Follow all safety protocols and correctly use required PPE when operating machinery
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior CNC operation experience required
- V-Carve software experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and manufacturing guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Availability to work 40 hours per week
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is performed in a production/warehouse environment. Employees in this role must be able to, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Stand and move about the production floor for extended periods
- Lift and carry materials up to 50lbs pounds
- Operate machinery requiring manual dexterity and repetitive motion
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times on the production floor
