Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel trucks, tractor-trailers, and heavy machinery using schematics and automotive electrical systems knowledge
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC system servicing
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair techniques to meet specific repair requirements
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, alignment issues, and vehicle electrical systems to identify root causes
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to assess engine performance issues related to diesel engines or automotive electrical systems
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and ensure all asset protection procedures are followed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Truck Mechanic (Tech 3 or 4 experience) with dealership experience preferred
- Minimum 3 to 4 Years experience required
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension components, brakes, and electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to use power tools safely
- Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues in heavy equipment or trucks
- Ability to operate heavy machinery like excavators, cranes, forklifts confidently in a maintenance setting
- Knowledge of diesel mechanics and farm machinery is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members
