Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector/Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet strict quality standards through precise inspection and measurement techniques. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our manufacturing processes, uphold industry certifications such as AS9100 and ISO 13485, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
- Conduct dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), PC-DMIS software, height gauges, micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify product conformity.
- Program and operate CMM equipment, including PC-DMIS or similar software, to perform complex measurements aligned with engineering specifications.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to accurately assess part features against design requirements.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and ASME standards.
- Review inspection data, generate detailed reports, and document findings in accordance with quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions aligned with quality assurance protocols.
- Support adherence to ISO 13485 standards for medical device manufacturing or aerospace industry requirements by maintaining meticulous inspection records and documentation.
Skills
- Proficiency in CMM programming using PC-DMIS or Calypso software for precise measurement tasks.
- Strong understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, and ASME codes & standards.
- Extensive experience in dimensional inspection, blueprint reading, and interpreting technical drawings with GD&T annotations.
- Mechanical knowledge of machining processes, tooling, CNC operations, and manufacturing workflows.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments including height gauges, micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, schematics, and other measurement tools.
- Ability to analyze measurement data accurately and communicate findings effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles within aerospace or medical device industries; experience with Schematics and CAD software such as SolidWorks or CAD programs is a plus.
- Strong math skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances; familiarity with CNC programming is advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with technical proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints and schematics for quality control purposes.
