JOB OVERVIEW
Expected hours per week: 30.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive of our nonprofit organization, TeamUp! With Families, Inc. (TU), and the key leader of its medical equipment lending library, Katy's Kloset. The ED will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the execution and growth of the mission as well as overseeing fundraising, staff members, volunteers, programs, and sponsored family activities. The ED will develop deep knowledge of the field, core programs, operations, and business plans.
OUR MISSION
Our volunteer driven organization provides unique family-centered activities that are physically inclusive and fun. Our medical equipment lending library, Katy’s Kloset, accepts and distributes donated durable medical equipment and supplies to adults and children at no or low cost.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Management:
· Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve annual and long-term strategic goals.
· Actively engage and energize TU employees, volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders.
· Develop, maintain, and support a strong board of directors; serve as ex-officio of each committee; seek and build board involvement with strategic direction for both ongoing local operations.
· Lead, coach, develop, recruit and retain TU's high-performance employees and volunteer teams, as well as develop and maintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality people.
· A willingness to learn, actively participate and identify the needs and opportunities of the organization.
· Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, donors, and other constituents.
Fundraising & Communications:
- Expand local revenue streams and fundraising activities to financially sustain and support existing program operations and regional expansion.
- Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from social media presence to external relations -- with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
- Cultivate relationships with potential funders as well as maintain current development connections. Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
Planning & New Business:
- Build partnerships as well as nurture established relationships with business and community impact leaders.
- Be an external local presence that publishes and communicates program results with an emphasis on the successes of the local program.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ED will be thoroughly committed to the mission of Team Up! With Families, Inc. All candidates should have a proven track record of leadership, fundraising, coaching, and relationship management experience.
Specific Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least 5 years of senior management experience; track record of effectively leading fundraising and scaling a performance- and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and implemented strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
- Excellence in organizational management and proven ability to recruit, train and coach staff and volunteers; manage and develop high-performance teams, communicate and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
- Past success working with a board of directors with the ability to cultivate existing and future board member relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning as well as successfully works in collaboration with diverse groups.
- Mission-driven passion, committed to integrity, positive attitude, and self-directed.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
- Office environment, with occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, squatting and full range of motion.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand; use hands to handle or touch; talk and hear.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $63,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
