Duration: 1 year contract with possibility of 2 more years
Shift Schedule: 8 hours/day
Credentialing/Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks
License: Current, valid, unrestricted pharmacist license in any state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Education: Pharmacy degree (Doctor of Pharmacy or equivalent); board certification required.
Experience Needed: Minimum 36 months (3 years) of pharmacist experience, including at least 12 months in the specialty required for the position
Special Skills Needed:
- Proficiency with IHS Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Basic computer/IT skills
- English language proficiency (read/write/speak) sufficient for patient and staff communication
- Demonstrated cultural awareness/sensitivity toward American Indian and Alaska Native (Navajo) practices
- Ability to work in a rural, resource-limited setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient and community health pharmacy services in accordance with IHS, Joint Commission, and CMS standards
- Document all patient care activities completely, accurately, and timely in the EHR
- Comply with patient safety, infection control, and facility safety reporting requirements
- Maintain required licensure, certifications, and credentialing throughout performance
- Participate in departmental peer review per Joint Commission standards
- Maintain professional conduct and ensure continuity of patient care (including coverage during absences)
- Safeguard PHI in compliance with HIPAA, the Privacy Act, and the Business Associate Agreement
- Wear Government-issued ID badge at all times while performing services
