Job Overview
We are seeking dynamic and passionate Math and Verbal Instructors to lead SAT preparation workshops designed to empower high school students to excel on the SAT exam. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys while honing your teaching skills. As an instructor, you will deliver engaging lessons, develop tailored curriculum content, and provide expert guidance in test-taking strategies. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire students to build confidence and achieve their college admission goals through comprehensive test preparation. All facilitators will be trained to lead math or verbal classes.
If selected, the facilitator must attend orientation/training and complete Risk Management T. Facilitators will receive a stipend* at the conclusion of the 8-week workshop (Saturday, September 26-Saturday, November 21, 2026.)
*In order to receive the full stipend, Facilitators must complete the following:
- Mandatory Facilitator Orientation/Training on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026
- Five consecutive weeks of Full Day (8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m) instruction (Oct. 10-Nov 7)
- Mandatory Mid-Term Facilitator Check-in during Week 4
- Proctor and Score completed Pre-tests (Week 1: Sept 26) and Post-tests (Week 7: Nov 14)
Duties
- Deliver lesson plans in support of math and/or verbal curriculum.
- Maintain effective and efficient administrative records.
- Provide a positive environment where students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with Co-facilitators to enhance the instructional environment and experience.
Experience/Requirements
- Prior experience working with high school students in tutoring or classroom settings, especially in test preparation courses for the SAT or ACT
- Demonstrated success in teaching math, verbal reasoning, or English at the high school level or beyond; high school teaching experience is highly valued
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to motivate students and foster a supportive learning environment
- Private tutoring experience or classroom management skills that ensure productive sessions in-person
- Familiarity with test-taking strategies for standardized exams such as the SAT and ACT; knowledge of test preparation best practices is essential
- Mandatory Risk Management Training will be required after acceptance, which will include obtaining a Child Abuse and Criminal Check. *The available dates for Risk Management training are Thursday, August 20, 2026 and Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
