Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for therapy sessions, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup for each patient.
- Assist patients with exercises and mobility activities under the supervision of licensed therapists, ensuring safety and proper technique.
- Support manual handling tasks such as transferring patients safely using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, organizing therapy supplies, and coordinating patient flow within the clinic or hospital environment.
- Uphold patient care standards by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail during all interactions.
Requirements
- Prior experience practicing in a physical therapy or related healthcare role is preferred but not required.
- knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices is preferred but not required..
- Familiarity with manual handling techniques for heavy lifting and patient transfers to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
- Knowledge of acute care procedures and inpatient experience is advantageous.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients of diverse ages including geriatrics and those in sub-acute or orthopedic care.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient service excellence with a focus on compassionate care delivery.
