Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Med Surg)
Location: Lander, WY
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Ready for your next travel nursing adventure? We're seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift assignment in beautiful Lander, Wyoming. Position Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients.
- Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Administer medications and IV therapies while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and cardiac or electronic monitoring equipment as appropriate.
- Provide care for pre-operative and post-operative patients.
- Perform nursing procedures including IV starts, catheter insertions, wound care, and dressing changes.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while assisting physicians as needed.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, discharge planning, and post-hospital care.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective patient care.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience required.
- Previous acute care hospital experience required.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
