Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Delivery Driver / Bindery Operator to join our team. This unique position combines customer-facing delivery responsibilities with hands-on production work in our bindery department. The ideal candidate will be comfortable safely driving a straight truck to deliver finished products to customers throughout the Madison area, handling printed materials and promotional products with care, and operating bindery equipment. This role is critical to ensuring that jobs are completed accurately, on time, and delivered professionally to our customers.
Essential Responsibilities
Delivery Duties
- Safely operate a company-owned straight truck (no CDL required) and other company vehicles.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload printed materials and finished products.
- Deliver orders to customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Verify delivery paperwork and obtain signatures when required.
- Plan and follow delivery routes efficiently.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
Bindery Operations
- Operate bindery equipment including cutters, folders, collators, stitchers, drills, laminators, and other finishing equipment.
- Assemble, package, and prepare printed materials for delivery or shipment.
- Review work orders and production specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Perform quality checks throughout the finishing process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist with general production and shop duties as needed.
- Report equipment issues and perform basic maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving a straight truck preferred.
- Previous bindery, print production, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to read and understand work orders and production instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to load and unload deliveries safely.
- Comfortable working around production equipment and machinery.
Schedule
- First Shift
- Full-time
- Monday–Friday
- Occasional overtime as needed to meet production and delivery schedules.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
