Job Summary
Blind Hope Cat Sanctuary in North Rogers, AR is accepting applications for a part-time Cat Caregiver. This position is only for FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY to start. Preference is given to individuals with solid animal care skills in a vet’s office or animal shelter. This is NOT a summer or beginner type job. This is a permanent, physical job that requires consistency, commitment, and a desire to make an impact on the lives of our special cats.
Hours
3 hours/day - typically 8-11am. 3 days/week with the possibility of additional days
Duties
- Feed, water, and monitor cats’ health and behavior daily to ensure their well-being
- Clean litter boxes, bedding, and living areas to maintain hygiene and comfort
- Observe cats for signs of illness or distress and report any concerns promptly
- Administer basic veterinary treatments or medications as directed by vet
- Maintain accurate records of each cat’s condition, treatments, and behavioral observations
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop
Requirements
- MUST BE DEPENDABLE AND ON TIME
- Ability to work around tight places by crouching and bending
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs
- Ability to react quickly to cat altercations and emergencies
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to take directions and follow safety guidelines
- 30 day probationary period
- Background check & drug test is required. We are a smoke-free facility.
- Must have reliable transportation
Experience
- Prior experience working with animals, especially cats, in shelters or veterinary clinics REQUIRED
- Knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety
- Ability to administer pills, IV fluids, SQ injections
Pay: $15.00 per hour
