Express Employment Professionals of Everett is hiring a Staff Accountant for a small, fast-paced company in Marysville, WA. This is a full-time, evaluation-to-hire position with steady weekday hours and long-term potential.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00/9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Environment: 100% on-site
Pay: $27–$30 per hour
This role works closely with the Controller and plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial operations. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work while contributing to both day-to-day accounting and broader business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage core accounting functions including:
- Accounts Payable (AP) processing and invoice entry
- Accounts Receivable (AR) review and reconciliation
- B&O tax coding and compliance
- Sales tax preparation and filing
- Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls
- Assist with audit preparation and interact with external auditors
- Support the Controller with special projects and operational initiatives
- Provide guidance and oversight to junior staff as needed
Qualifications
- Experience with AP/AR and B&O tax requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Proven reliability and initiative
- Minimum 6 months of recent accounting experience
- Two professional references required
