Material Coordinator
Leads daily activities in inventory and raw material preparation.
Leads daily activities in kitting raw material and tooling to match production plan.
Prepare raw materials for production machines.
Performs data entry to reflect material traceability in our computer systems.
Performs inventory cycle counts and works closely with management for accuracy.
Prepare production orders to be sent to outside processors.
Maintains neat work areas, with everything stored neatly and all storage containers labeled.
Coordinate priorities with production supervisor and operations team.
Keep track of department supplies and order minimum necessary supplies/
Help in other areas when needed such and shipping and receiving and process.
Cross-train in another operations area as back-up capacity.
Create and implement department improvements to increase productivity and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare raw material and kit tooling to match production schedules.
- Maintain list of department improvements, and manage implementation of department improvement projects to increase productivity and quality.
- Maintain list of department supplies, with quantities on hand, minimum quantities to keep on-hand, and re-order amounts; submit purchase order requests to front office.
- Help in shipping and receiving and process areas as required.
- Read required raw materials from work order, locate raw materials in computer system, locate raw materials in stock location, bring raw materials to prep area, slit, straighten and cut raw materials as necessary for production operation, move prepared raw material to shop queue.
- Physically receive raw materials from shipping companies, notify quality to receive into computer system, move received raw materials into inventory queue.
- Place production parts onto heat treat arbors and prepare shipping crates for jobs going to outside heat treat.
- Prepare other jobs for outside processing.
- Cooperate with sales administration, production supervisor, and operations director on daily priorities and other assignments.
- Help in other areas when not busy in own area, or when necessary based on direction from production supervisor or operations director.
- Cross-train in at least one other area to be available for back-up capacity when not busy in own area, or when necessary based on direct from production supervisor or operations director.
- Drive company truck to drop-off and pick-up production jobs and other purchases and deliveries as requested by production supervisor or operations director.
- Operator fork-lift inside and outside building in safe manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledgeable in warehouse operations.
- Able to operate metal cutting equipment and knowledgeable about techniques.
- Computer literate, MS Windows OS, ERP Systems.
- Trained forklift operator.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience with metal cutting equipment and forklift operation preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret, technical and instructional documents.
- Able to respond to inquiries from associates and management.
- Able to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Be familiar with measurement conversion factors.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Able to interpret a variety of technical information in instructional or blueprint form.
- Able to interact effectively with all levels of associates and management.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
