Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to advancing renewable energy solutions. This role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine systems located offshore. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the reliable operation of wind turbines, contributing to sustainable energy production. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on offshore wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems using technical manuals, blueprints, and diagnostic tools.
- Perform high voltage and low voltage electrical work in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Execute welding, rigging, and other construction-related tasks necessary for turbine repairs or upgrades.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, or replace turbine components.
- Climb turbines safely using appropriate safety gear and adhere to climbing protocols for offshore environments.
- Diagnose generator issues and perform repairs to maintain continuous power generation.
- Collaborate with onshore teams for planning maintenance activities and reporting operational status.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, parts used, and system conditions for compliance and record-keeping.
- Support field service operations by responding promptly to turbine alarms or emergency repairs.
Requirements
- Valid GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certification – Sea Survival Required
- Previous experience as an offshore wind turbine technician or in a similar wind energy role
- Ability to work at heights and in challenging offshore conditions
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Must be authorized to work and able to travel offshore as required
Schedule
- Rotation: 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off
- Start Date: July 17
- Competitive compensation available based on experience.
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
