About the Role
We own and operate a growing portfolio of full-service marinas on Lake Texoma — wet slips, fuel docks, boat service, rentals, lodging, and food & beverage. Our team of 75+ takes pride in delivering a great on-the-water experience while running a disciplined, profitable business.
We're hiring a Controller to own financial operations across the group as we scale. This is a hands-on leadership seat, not a corner office — you'll close the books, tighten the controls, reporting to the COO and sitting at the table with ownership on the decisions that move the business. If you want your work to have visible impact (and you wouldn't mind a commute that ends at the water), this is a rare one.
What You'll Own
- Monthly and annual close across multiple entities, including balance sheet reconciliation and multi-entity consolidations
- Timely, accurate monthly financial statements
- The consolidated budget and forecast — and the variance analysis that explains what actually happened
- Quality control over financial transactions and reporting, with internal controls you build and document
- GAAP compliance and a working command of current technical accounting issues
- Local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings (TX and OK)
- Cost-saving and efficiency initiatives, in partnership with the GM and ownership
- Mentoring accounting staff and coordinating the annual audit with our external CPA firm
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience — Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable
- Hands-on multi-entity GL and consolidations (this is the heart of the job, not a nice-to-have)
- Deep working knowledge of GAAP, regulatory requirements, and applicable taxes
- QuickBooks (or similar) proficiency and strong Excel
- A self-starter who runs lean, hits tight deadlines, and doesn't need a big team behind them
- CPA license preferred
- Marina, hotel, club, or recreation-industry experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
$70,000–$85,000/year, plus bonus eligibility, health, dental, and vision insurance and paid time off.
