Job Overview
We're looking for a driven Project Engineer 4 to join a fast-paced team that tackles critical supply chain and business transfer issues head-on. This role sits at the intersection of Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Logistics, and Manufacturing — resolving short-term capacity disruptions caused by equipment failures, natural disasters, and other supplier shortage issues. ️ What's the Job?
- Support and lead conference calls related to business transfers and critical supply issues
- Act as the key liaison between Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Suppliers to resolve issues and provide technical support
- Determine root causes of supplier delivery problems and coordinate timely, effective resolutions
- Help develop and implement corrective actions for critical issues
- Identify process improvements and lead-time reduction opportunities to improve supplier delivery performance
- Participate as a member or resource on product development teams as needed
- Work closely with the Supplier Risk Management team on financially troubled suppliers
- Lead and support proactive and predictive strategy initiatives
- Keep management updated frequently based on issue urgency, and provide executive-level reports as required
✅ What's Needed?
- 5+ years of relevant post-graduate experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, logistics, or product development
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Operations (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in die casting or machining operations (preferred)
- Broad understanding of manufacturing processes, including material handling, inventory management, OEE, capacity, and throughput
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to build relationships and resolve issues with team members and suppliers
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex cases with a high level of autonomy and accountability
- Ability to present information effectively to various levels and audiences
- Willingness to travel spontaneously up to 75% domestically/internationally to supplier sites
- Valid passport required
