Experienced Tree ClimberJob Overview
We are seeking an experienced, safety-focused Tree Climber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven climbing, pruning, and removal experience, along with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety. This role requires the ability to work effectively with both ground crew members and fellow climbers while maintaining professionalism, initiative, and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removals using industry-approved climbing techniques
- Safely ascend, maneuver within, and descend trees using ropes, saddles, and climbing systems
- Execute rigging operations and safely lower limbs and wood to the ground
- Operate chainsaws, pole saws, chippers, stump grinders, and other tree care equipment
- Inspect trees for hazards, structural defects, and pruning needs
- Communicate effectively with crew members to maintain a safe and productive work environment
- Assist in setting up and maintaining safe work zones
- Promote and support safe work practices among all crew members
- Train and assist less-experienced team members when appropriate
- Maintain equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers
- Assist with storm response and emergency tree work as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tree climbing, pruning, removals, and rigging
- Knowledge of aerial rescue procedures
- Strong understanding of ANSI Z133 safety standards and industry best practices
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to take initiative
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida’s heat and varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
