Position Overview
NurseAmerica is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse – Radiation Oncology to join a high-performing outpatient oncology team. This role provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing radiation and oncology-related treatments while supporting continuity of care across the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care following established clinical standards

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, labs, and psychosocial needs

Prepare and administer therapies and medications under physician supervision

Administer medications and blood products safely and accurately

Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line devices
-
Monitor patient responses to treatment and coordinate dose modifications as needed

Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record

Ensure proper consent and pre-authorization prior to treatments

Follow OSHA and infection control guidelines when handling hazardous materials

Assist with clinical operations, including patient flow, scheduling, triage calls, and referrals

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical research teams

Serve as a clinical resource to LPNs and medical assistants
-
Participate in ongoing professional development and oncology education
Qualifications
-
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland

Current BLS certification
-
1–3 years of nursing experience (oncology experience preferred)

Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills

Abiiity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient setting
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Possible exposure to communicable diseases, cytotoxic agents, and radiation

Prolonged standing and walking

Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Manual dexterity and coordination are required for patient care and equipment use
