Summary
This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews all maintenance and repair requests to determine priority and necessary actions to take place.
- Coordinates maintenance and repairs with site management to minimize interference with production operations.
- Troubleshoots and performs required maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC systems.
- Moves equipment and installs new equipment as required to meet production needs.
- Maintains proper documentation for work performed for analysis and reporting.
- Develops and executes preventive maintenance schedule for the upkeep of machines and facility equipment.
- Works closely with employees and outside vendors to resolve process and equipment issues in a cost effective and timely manner.
- Performs routine housekeeping necessary to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
- Participates in continuous improvement projects and makes recommendations to help improve the maintenance program.
- Conducts regular inspections and audits of facility to maintain and continually improve facility cleanliness, and to identify and resolve any facility or equipment issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability and experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems with equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of staff from different departments effectively.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills in order to prioritize workload according to business demands.
- Ability to operate forklifts and scissor lifts.
- Ability to work with vendors on getting quotes for parts and services.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of industrial shop safety and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- General computer knowledge. Excel experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail required.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years of practical, hands on experience in equivalent role or field.
- Courses and certificates in mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and safety preferred.
Physical Demands
DOT/FAA regulations require all applicants for placement in DOT/FAA safety-sensitive positions will be required submit to a pre-employment drug test as well as random testing annually.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
