Job Summary
The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting strategic sourcing initiatives through supplier data management, sourcing analytics, cost reduction projects, and tactical procurement activities. This role maintains accurate supplier and material data within Oracle, provides day-to-day support for an assigned sourcing category, and helps ensure supply continuity during periods of business growth and production ramp-up. The position is designed as a developmental role that builds the skills and experience needed to progress into a Sourcing Manager position while driving operational excellence and delivering measurable value to the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage sourcing-related data in Oracle, ensuring supplier, pricing, item, and sourcing information is accurate and up to date.
- Support an assigned sourcing category by executing sourcing strategies, coordinating supplier activities, and assisting with day-to-day supplier management.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities through negotiations, supplier optimization, and value analysis.
- Analyze sourcing, supplier, and spend data to develop reports, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to support business decisions.
- Provide tactical sourcing support to meet increased production demand, including expediting materials, resolving supply issues, and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Planning, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance, to support new product introductions, supplier changes, and supply continuity initiatives.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of sourcing processes, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop strategic sourcing and supplier management competencies through mentorship, project leadership, and increasing ownership of category management responsibilities in preparation for advancement to a Sourcing Manager role.

Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications necessary to perform the job:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency with tools like Oracle, Excel, or similar
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Supply Chain; Purchasing and / or Sourcing
- Project Management experience
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Office setting, primarily seated work at a computer
- Occasional travel may be required (up to 10%)
