Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Implement prescribed physical therapy treatments utilizing techniques such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy to enhance patient recovery.
- Assist in developing and modifying individualized care plans in collaboration with licensed physical therapists and healthcare professionals.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately in electronic health records (EHR) following clinical documentation standards.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients about their treatment goals, progress, and post-discharge instructions.
- Support discharge planning processes by providing detailed documentation of patient status and ongoing care needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, caregivers, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes across inpatient, outpatient, geriatrics, pediatrics, and home health settings.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice.
- Hands-on experience with clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation standards required for accurate record keeping.
- Skilled in the operation of physical therapy equipment used for therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems to ensure seamless documentation workflows.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, acute care patients or those requiring skilled nursing services is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with clients and caregivers while maintaining professionalism and empathy throughout the treatment process.
