Job Summary:
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on all equipment within the manufacturing facility. They work independently and also as part of a team with the Engineering Department to troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve them. Maintenance Technicians also perform project work ranging from design and fabrication, to installation of capital equipment.
MUST have at least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems typically found in an industrial production facility.
- Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, and transformers.
- Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and electronic control components such as photo eyes, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, tachometers and encoders.
- Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting motors, motor starters, gearboxes, drive systems, fans, pumps, conveyors, timing belts.
- Understanding or ability to learn PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting components (CPU back planes, I/O boards, counters, control and communications modules).
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships across all levels of the organization, work as part of a dedicated maintenance team.
- Other duties or projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
- Ability to work in hot environments, temperatures up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Occasionally pushing and pulling wheeled carts loaded with tools or materials, weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Engaging in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders safely and without limitation.
- Ability to work in industrial environments that may be noisy, with limited lighting, unheated, not air-conditioned.
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required, degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field preferred.
- Four years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field preferred
- Maintenance experience in an industrial setting, preferably a continuous operation.
- Experience with electrical systems ranging from 24V control through 480V supply.
- Experience with maintaining and repairing robotic packaging systems is a plus.
- Experience and proficiency in the following areas a plus:
o Electrical and electronic principles
o Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
o Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
o Preventative maintenance procedures

- Schedule is set/ 4 days week one/ 3 days week two, working only 14-15 days per month. Overtime available (plant operation is continuous: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays).
