Freight Coordinator
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Freight Coordinator to join our clients team in Medina, OH. This full-time, on-site role is perfect for someone with a strong background in transportation and logistics who is eager to contribute to a dynamic shipping environment.
As a Freight Coordinator, you will work closely with carriers and internal teams to ensure seamless transportation operations. You'll play a key role in managing freight strategies, securing timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Hours:
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Pay:
- $18.00-$20.00 per hour depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and manage transportation strategies, policies, and procedures
- Manage daily transportation operations including route planning, carrier selection, and freight consolidation
- Ensure shipments are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Monitor shipment progress and communicate any delays or issues to internal teams and customers
- Analyze transportation data and performance metrics to identify improvements and cost savings
- Work closely with sales, purchasing, and production teams for seamless logistics coordination
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and logistics providers
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in transportation and logistics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management software
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS)
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and compliance
- Prior experience in warehouse or shipping environments
