The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout Boone Memorial Health. This position performs housekeeping duties in patient care areas, surgical suites, offices, laboratories, and other hospital departments while following all infection prevention and safety standards. The Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role in supporting quality patient care by ensuring the hospital remains clean, organized, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and staff.
As an Environmental Services Technician, you will:

Clean patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, offices, laboratories, waiting rooms, and public restrooms.

Maintain a clean, sanitary, and infection-free environment throughout the hospital.

Empty trash, make beds, restock supplies, and disinfect equipment and furniture.

Vacuum carpets and maintain floors.

Collect and distribute hospital linens and gowns.

Complete daily linen inventories and inspect housekeeping equipment.

Report maintenance concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

Follow all hospital safety and infection prevention policies.
- Hospital, hotel, or commercial housekeeping experience preferred.

Janitorial or environmental services experience preferred.

Valid West Virginia Driver's License preferred.

Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and patient safety.
This position requires the ability to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, twist, push, and pull.

Lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.

Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
