Optical Associate (Experience Required-Optician License Not Required)
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Optical Associate to join our pediatric eye care practice on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping children and families, takes pride in delivering exceptional service, and can confidently guide patients through the eyewear selection process.
We're a small, modern pediatric practice that values kindness, teamwork, and creating a positive experience for every child and family who walks through our doors. We believe great patient care starts with great people, and we're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, works independently, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to the team.
You'll partner closely with our Optician to provide an outstanding patient experience—from frame selection through pickup—while helping our optical shop operate smoothly and efficiently.
We're especially interested in candidates with previous optical retail experience or those currently enrolled in an opticianry program who have meaningful hands-on dispensing experience.
What You'll Be Doing

- Taking accurate frame measurements and entering eyewear orders
- Adjusting and fitting eyewear for comfort, function, and durability
- Troubleshooting common eyewear concerns and providing excellent follow-up care
- Answering patient questions by phone, email, and text
- Scheduling appointments and supporting patient communication as needed
- Working collaboratively with our Optician and clinical team to deliver exceptional patient care
- Maintaining an organized, welcoming, and efficient optical dispensary
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience dispensing and selling eyewear in an optical practice or optical retail setting
- Can confidently guide patients through frame and lens selection with minimal supervision
- Enjoys working with children and knows how to make families feel comfortable and welcome
- Is comfortable learning new products and staying current on lens technology
- Is comfortable using computers, point-of-sale systems, and practice management software
- Is detail-oriented and committed to getting orders right the first time
- Is reliable, organized, adaptable, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team
An optician's license is not required.
