Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a School Bus Driver at Grayson County SSA. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and related activities. This is a full-time position that requires a commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining a positive environment for our students.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized bus interior.
- Follow designated routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations among students while on the bus.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation issues and concerns.
- Manage student behavior and address any disciplinary issues in a calm and effective manner.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of student ridership and incident reports.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Previous experience driving a school bus or similar vehicle preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to school transportation.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
