Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Key Responsibilities
· Accurately interpret, enter, and process prescription orders.
· Bill and process prescriptions through various insurance plans, ensuring all required information (BIN, PCN, NDC, day supply, etc.) is entered correctly.
· Count, fill, and prepare prescription and OTC orders for pharmacist verification.
· Monitor compound inventory and communicate compounding needs to pharmacy staff.
· Enter new compound formulations into Rx30, including accurate ingredient lists and cost information.
· Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with questions, concerns, and problem resolution.
· Routinely check and respond to voicemail messages and patient requests.
· Prioritize prescription workflow based on shipping schedules, medication availability, and provider requests.
· Regularly monitor medication and supply inventory levels and identify items requiring reorder.
· Inspect inventory for expired medications and compounds and follow established procedures for removal.
· Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions accurately.
· Pre-package commonly used quantities of high-volume medications.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
· Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by pharmacy management or pharmacists.
Qualifications
· Current Pharmacy Technician registration/certification as required by state regulations.
· Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
· Experience with pharmacy management software, including Rx30, is a plus.
· Knowledge of prescription processing, insurance billing, and pharmacy operations.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
