Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using manual or machine methods while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area by regularly sanitizing surfaces and ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision.
- Support bussing activities by clearing tables promptly and efficiently to ensure a smooth flow of service.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools safely and effectively following all safety protocols.
- Follow strict sanitation standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to moving supplies or equipment, always practicing manual handling safety procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is essential.
- Experience with dishwashing techniques, kitchen cleaning routines, and operating commercial kitchen equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling standards, knife skills for basic prep tasks, and general kitchen health and safety standards will set you up for success.
- Prior banquet or catering experience is a plus, demonstrating your ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings.
- A background in hospitality roles that involve food service or kitchen support will help you excel in this position.
