We are currently looking for a Recruiter/Human Resources Generalist to add to our team to perform HR related duties at the professional level and will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Full Cycle Recruitment & Selection for all manufacturing roles; and Onboarding; Employee Relations, Health & Safety, Payroll and Benefits Administration, Training.
Responsibilities:
- Champions hiring process by coordinating job posting on web site, reviewing resumes, scheduling interview, conducting interviews, attending job fairs etc.
- Conducting full cycle recruitment process including but not limited to posting, sourcing, screening candidates, testing reference check and placement for a wide range of all available positions within a mandated deadline for manufacturing roles (assembler, machinists, winders, industrial mechanic, operations managers, supervisors etc.)
- Recruit quality active and passive candidates by sourcing, maintaining candidate pipelines, pursuing referrals and developing meaningful contacts.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs, job duties, qualifications and skills.
- Executing daily recruiting activities, such as contacting qualified potential candidates through phone screening and setting up first and second in-person interviews.
- Identifying technically qualified candidates based on capability and fit within the organizational culture.
- Ensuring the most effective advertising channels are utilized. Monitoring advertising performance and adjusting spends as required to meet monthly advertising budget as assigned.
- Ensuring organizational competency gaps are closed through effective advertising, cold calling, and other effective recruiting methods.
- Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations through various communication platforms
- Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints.
- Assists in administration of compensation program; helps to monitor performance appraisal process
- Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
- Collects pertinent payroll data through the time and attendance system and process accordingly.
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
- Processes personnel action forms and assures proper approvals; HRIS System
- Documents attendance infractions and all disciplinary actions
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely fashion
- Champions HR meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as requested
- Helps to maintain company organization charts and employee directory
- Maintains local HR and employee relations invoices in accordance with A/P procedures
- Assists department in carrying out various human resources procedures for all company employees
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources Management
Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of Hands-on experience as a Human Resources Generalist preferred
- Hands-on experience in the Manufacturing Industry with a major focus on leading recruitment activities is highly preferred.
- Must be able to travel to Canada Head office for the first 5-6 weeks for Onboarding and periodically as required by the business (Accommodation & Per Diem will be provided by the company)
Skills & Knowledge:
- Sound knowledge of New York employment/labour legislations
- Up to date with current Human Resources trends
- Previous experience with HRIS and ATS
- Advanced MS Excel experience required
- Excellent oral, written communication skills; excellent interpersonal, organizational, coaching and problem solving skills with proven leadership capabilities
Annual Pay: $60,000-$70,000
