Job Summary: This position is responsible for order pulling process in support of maximizing the efficiency of the shipping process while ensuring accuracy and quality of plant material is being brought to the shipping dock.
Job Responsibilities:

- Separate and distribute appropriate number of straps to tractor drivers ensuring minimum distance between pull locations and one full load of plants per tractor.
- Oversee the daily order pulling process providing direction & supervision to the crew.
- Inform Shipping Dock Manager when a Pull Sheet is complete.
- Check in plants upon arrival to the dock from tractor drivers to ensure the desired quality and quantity of the products.
- Receive order information from tag room for planning number of Pull Sheets per truckload.
- Check on the availability and count of plants on Pull Sheets.
- Coordinate order changes when there is a problem with plant quality or change in plant/block location.
- Communicate alternative pull locations or product cancellations to necessary personnel to ensure orders are updated timely.
- Assist the shipping team with other shipping processes when order pulling is completed.
- Complete data collection sheets daily to measure efficiencies for productivity tracking.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience
- 3 years of nursery experience preferred.
- 3 years of experience managing/supervising employees preferred.
Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills; responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to organize, motivate, and lead employees.
- Skilled problem solving.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and familiar with Teams.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lifts/pulls/carries up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear, and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
- On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach above the shoulders.
- Operate farm equipment when needed.
- Operate typical office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copy machine, etc.
- Regular mental demands such as comprehension, reasoning, decision making, and strong math skills.
