Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Escrow Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary resource for the accounting team by providing guidance, answering questions, and assisting with complex or escalated issues.
- Prepare, review, and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare and maintain financial and operational reports that provide management with meaningful information on business performance, trends, and opportunities.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the annual audit process by working with external auditors, preparing requested documentation, and addressing audit findings as needed.
- Oversee daily cash management activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank balances, and other cash-related transactions.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting procedures and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and reduce financial risk.
- Exercise sound judgment in resolving issues independently while recognizing when matters should be escalated to executive management.
- Review, process, and authorize wire transactions in accordance with company procedures.
- Review daily journal entries for completeness and accuracy.
- Review daily account reconciliations to ensure timely completion and compliance with company standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to communicate professionally and build positive working relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- QuickBooks Online certification required.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze and manipulate financial data.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general accounting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of residential real estate escrow and title operations.
- Experience in the escrow/title industry required.
- Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and company information.
Prior experience with Escrow, Lending or Real Estate is preferred
