Established in Boulder, Colorado, in 2005, Ku Cha House of Tea is a traditional Chinese tea shop dedicated to bringing premium loose leaf teas from all around the world to our customers. As we continue to grow, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our dynamic team at our NEW Lakewood location.
Training will occur at the Boulder Pearl Street location.
Positions Available:
- Shift Supervisor / Shift Lead
Job Description: As a shift supervisor / shift lead, you will need a passion for team development and customer service. You play a crucial role in representing the Ku Cha House of Tea brand and ensuring the satisfaction of our RTA / TB as well as our valued customers. You will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager and / or Assistant Store Manager in the daily business operations of a retail store as well as supervising RTA / TB, communicating with and assisting customers and carrying out directives given by the store manager and / or assistant store manager. Responsibilities include training, coaching, managing the team to ensure the team adheres to company policies, completing management and organizational tasks that support the efficiency of a store’s operation, assisting customers, and ensuring customer satisfaction and resolving customer complaints. , You will be viewed as the role model of the store operations standards. You will lead each shift, working alongside a team of RTA / TB to deliver quality customer service and expertly-crafted beverages. You will have the ability to positively influence and guide others, maintain an encouraging team environment, and grow your leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
-Business Focus
- Coordinating, monitoring, and reporting on daily operations.
- Ensuring store operating policies, procedures, and standards, including cleanliness, organization, cash handling protocols, store safety and security measures are followed.
- Organizing sales and product demonstrations; assisting with the development of new sales and recruitment strategies.
- Presentation skills and knowledge of best visual and marketing display practices: ensuring merchandise is displayed optimally to maximize purchasing appeal.
-Team and Self Focus
- Must be self-motivated, have a desire for self-development and have the ability to work autonomously when required, maintaining an overall management style that follows company best practices.
- Strong and clear communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead staff, help customers, identify sales opportunities, address customer feedback, proactively address market issues. and work with store manager and upper management.
- Providing leadership and direction to all employees.
- Motivating employees and ensuring a focus on the mission.
- Taking disciplinary action when necessary.
- Collaborate on setting and achieving team-specific goals.
- Working closely with the store manager to lead staff.
- Supervising, training, and developing new and current employees.
- Supervise, train and participate in comprehensive tea training and tastings with RTA / TB to deepen knowledge of our product offerings and brewing techniques.
- Assisting the store manager in all areas of daily business operations, customer service, and merchandising.
- Completing tasks assigned by the store manager accurately and efficiently.
- Supporting the store manager as needed.

- Ensuring a consistent standard of customer service.
- Assisting customers whenever necessary.
- Collaborate with other tea brewers to efficiently take customer orders, prepare and serve beverages, and deliver prompt service that exceeds customer expectations.
- Great customer service skills, including patience and active listening, to ensure customers feel heard and helped.
- Conflict management skills to resolve customer issues effectively and ensure efficiency on teams.
- Provide courteous, sales-related customer service interactions by assisting customers in discovering their personal favorites among Ku Cha’s premium loose-leaf teas and discussing brewing methods to enhance their tea experience as well as resolving complaints and grievances.
- Resolving customer complaints, concerns, issues in a timely manner ensuring their overall satisfaction.
- In-depth knowledge of the store’s merchandise, its exact location, and its prices.
Basic Qualifications:
· High school diploma / GED.
· Ability to carry 50lb on a consistent basis
- Previous 6+ months of experience in a position that required interacting with and fulfilling the requests of customers, as well as, delegating and / or coordinating tasks of two or more subordinates
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills, good math skills, attention to detail.
- Available to work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends, evenings, and / or mornings to meet the needs of our customers and business operations.
- Willingness and ability to perform various tasks within Ku Cha House of Tea during your shift, adapting to changing priorities and contributing to the overall success of the team.
- Shift Supervisors / Shift Leads can go on to obtain Assistant Manager or full store management positions at a retail location.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The pay for a shift supervisor / shift lead may vary based on applicable previous experience, with starting compensation at $16.50 / hour.
