What You'll Do:

Build genuine connections with members, connecting them to staff, programs, and the YMCA mission and core values

Conduct fitness assessments and personal training sessions to determine each client's baseline abilities, needs, and physical condition

Design safe, effective workout plans and coach proper form and breathing technique

Maintain accurate client records and communicate with participants in a timely manner

Ensure YMCA personal training policies are followed by both coworkers and clients

Properly account for and process session payments and receipts

Follow all safety and risk management protocols, reporting concerns to your supervisor

Help promote the personal training program to members

Keep training areas and equipment clean, organized, and properly maintained

Stay knowledgeable about YMCA health and wellness programs and share that knowledge with members

Attend staff meetings and follow/enforce dress code guidelines
What You'll Need:

Personal Training Certification required

Ability to motivate and inspire members toward health and wellness

Comfort working with participants of all ages and fitness levels

Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

Strong customer service and communication skills
-
Organizational skills to track client progress over time

Ability to stay calm and respond quickly in safety or emergency situations

Comfort striking up conversations with new people and making everyone feel welcome

Willingness to attend required training and meetings

Must pass a criminal background check
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, running, and stretching, sometimes for extended periods.
