We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team at Washington Square Nursing & Rehab. As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of food for customers, employees, and visitors. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared and served in accordance with federal, state, and local sanitary regulations.
About the Role:
Prepare and cook a wide variety of food for customers, employees, and visitors
Prepare nutritionally appropriate and appetizing meals, including modified consistency and therapeutic diets, as prescribed by the attending physician
Meet required meal schedules
Take accurate measures to avoid food waste
Properly care for dietary equipment
Follow menus and special diet instructions
Take food temperatures per policy and insure food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to corporate, local, state and federal guidelines
Communicate freely with supervisor(s)
Cooperate with other dietary department staff
Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights
Perform other duties as requested
Preferred Qualifications:
Dietary Cook/Aide Experience
LTC, Residential or School Food Service Experience
ServeSafe Certification (preferred but not required)
