Experienced Leak Detection Plumber / Service Technician

About the Position
We are a growing Las Vegas plumbing and leak detection company looking for an experienced Leak Detection Plumber / Service Technician to join our team.
This is not an entry-level position.
Our ideal candidate has strong residential leak detection and service plumbing experience and is comfortable handling the entire service call from start to finish:
Diagnose → Present Options → Sell → Perform the Work
We are looking for someone who can independently identify plumbing problems, clearly communicate findings to customers, present repair options, close jobs and perform quality plumbing repairs.
However, we are also open to speaking with candidates who are particularly strong and experienced in leak detection, diagnosing and selling, even if they do not personally perform every type of plumbing repair.
Residential leak detection experience is important. Commercial leak detection experience is a major plus but is not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential leak detection and plumbing diagnostics
- Accurately locate hidden water leaks
- Diagnose slab leaks, underground leaks, main water service leaks, wall/ceiling leaks and other plumbing-related water loss
- Use professional leak detection equipment and diagnostic methods
- Perform pressure testing and isolation testing when necessary
- Clearly explain findings and available solutions to customers
- Build estimates and present repair options
- Sell appropriate plumbing solutions without high-pressure sales tactics
- Perform plumbing repairs and installations within your experience level
- Properly document findings with photos, notes and job information
- Communicate professionally with customers and office staff
- Maintain company equipment and vehicle
- Complete jobs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Assist with residential and occasional commercial leak detection projects
Preferred Leak Detection Experience
Experience with some or all of the following is highly preferred:
- Acoustic/electronic leak detection
- Electronic listening equipment
- Thermal/infrared imaging
- Moisture meters
- Underground pipe locating
- Slab leak detection
- Main water service leak detection
- Pressure testing
- Isolation testing
- Tracer gas leak detection
- Residential plumbing diagnostics
- Commercial leak detection
You do not necessarily need experience with every method listed above. We are primarily looking for someone with a strong understanding of plumbing systems who knows how to systematically diagnose and locate leaks.

- Can troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing problems independently
- Is comfortable communicating with homeowners and property managers
- Can confidently present estimates and repair options
- Understands the sales side of residential service plumbing
- Can perform plumbing repairs and installations
- Takes pride in workmanship and customer service
- Is dependable and communicates well
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Has a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
We strongly prefer someone who can diagnose, sell AND perform the repair, but we are willing to speak with candidates who are exceptional at diagnosing and selling and have a strong understanding of plumbing systems.
Compensation
Compensation will be structured as either hourly pay OR performance-based pay, depending on the candidate’s experience, technical ability, sales ability and preferred compensation structure.
For experienced technicians who can independently diagnose, sell and perform their own work, we are open to discussing a performance-based percentage structure.
For candidates who prefer a traditional compensation structure, hourly pay may be available.
Compensation is negotiable for the right candidate.
We are not looking to put an artificial ceiling on what a strong technician can earn. Our goal is to create a compensation structure that rewards performance while working well for both the technician and the company.
