Job Summary

Duties
- Respond promptly to calls involving stray, injured, or aggressive animals, providing immediate assistance and care.
- Enforce local animal control laws, ordinances, and regulations through inspections, citations, and legal procedures.
- Capture and safely handle animals using proper techniques and equipment to ensure safety for both animals and the public.
- Conduct investigations into animal cruelty, neglect, or abandonment cases, gathering evidence in compliance with procedural law.
- Assist with wildlife management efforts using surveillance tools and humane trapping methods when necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents, investigations, arrests, and other activities related to animal control operations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies on criminal investigations involving animals or related criminal activity such as theft or illegal possession.
Experience
- Prior experience in loving and caring for animals is necessary.
- Prior experience in law enforcement, criminal investigation, or security is preferred but not necessary.
- Demonstrated knowledge of animal handling techniques and animal care best practices.
- Physical conditioning suitable for active patrol duties including driving standard passenger vehicles for extended periods.
- Experience with surveillance technology, conflict management, and law enforcement procedures enhances success in this role.
- Background in military service or security roles that require leadership skills can be beneficial for team coordination and crisis response.
