Connect Community Charter School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Specialsit with mild to moderate certification or the ability to obtain one within the first year of hire to join our team. We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
This position is part-time (50%) with some scheduling flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Conduct educational assessments (e.g., Woodcock-Johnson).
- Schedule meetings with the IEP team
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff to ensure the best educational outcomes for students.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for student progress.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of all students.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential (preliminary certification intern program participants welcomed).
- Proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
