Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Crystal Growth Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will lead the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of crystal growth processes essential for high-quality semiconductor materials. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure process reliability, and support the scaling of production capabilities. Job Duties
- Designs and implements basic engineering projects: process development, process design.
- Troubleshoots process development issues and interact with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to resolve issues and fix bugs.
- Generates engineering test reports and presents proposals and results/conclusions to the design/process engineering community and upper management.
- Supports operational consistency in production by implementing process improvements and process optimization projects.
- Works closely with operations to assess existing processes and needs for improvement.
- Tracks metrics to determine areas for improvement and monitor the success of changes.
- Uses simulations to solve complex problems and test the hypotheses.
- Provides plant support and troubleshooting from growth to wafer processes.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of complex documentation sets, involving highly technical material, for training purposes under limited supervision.
- Solves problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
- Understanding business unit processes and hardware; knowledge of data analysis techniques to summarize data.
- Development of new processes and equipment.
- Developing metrology for new processes.
- Design of experiments and statistical data analysis.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in material science / engineering / physics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and solve problems.
- Experience with project management.
- Experience with data-driven continuous improvement; Six Sigma training preferred.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage conflicts in a stressful environment.
- Understands and listens to team members and fosters a productive team environment.
- Handles multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficient in advanced techniques with relevant software: MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. in addition to experience working within shared work environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in materials science / engineering / physics
- Four to six years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with Minitab Statistical Analysis software preferred.
