STS is now hiring an Emotional Support and Life Skills 1:1 PCA within the Eastern Lancaster County School District!
Day-to-day job duties of a Paraprofessional are determined by the classroom teacher or his/her designee, as they may vary depending upon the changing needs of the classroom(s), student(s), and/or school district. Duties include supporting students in general and special education.

Essential Functions:
●_ Supports the classroom teacher to implement the instructional program, including working directly with students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis if required._
●_ Establish positive rapport with students assigned to the classroom._
●_ Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and instructed upon by certified staff._
●_ Assists the certified teacher in the implementation of special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on a sympathetic understanding of the students, their needs, interests, and abilities._
●_ Maintains an open line of communication with members of the IEP team to support students in the classroom setting._
●_ Performs assigned supervision of students during lunch periods, recreational activities and/or on field trips._
●_ Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and community._
●_ Maintains a safe working environment to support the needs of the students._
●_ Must be cooperative, congenial and service-oriented._
●_ Ability to demonstrate flexibility in an environment with frequent interruptions as student needs arise._
●_ Maintains an open line of communication with members of the IEP team to support students in the classroom setting._
●_ Performs assigned supervision of students during lunch periods, recreational activities and/or on field trips._
●_ Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the school environment and community._
●_ Maintains a safe working environment to support the needs of the students._

Qualifications and Required Documents
- Proof of a high school diploma or higher education
- A Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34) that is clean and less than 1 years old
- A Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) that is clean and less than 1 years old
- A FBI Criminal History Record that is clean and less than 1 years old
- TB Test/chest x-ray that is less than 3 months old
