Columbia River Electric Maintenance, Inc. (CREM) | Kennewick, WA (Tri-Cities) | Full-Time
CREM is looking for a Safety Specialist to own safety and compliance across our operations — hands-on field support paired with the administrative work that supports our safety-first culture company-wide. This role partners closely with Operations and Compliance/Admin to keep safety a daily priority at CREM. If you've got 3-5 years of safety/compliance experience and want a role where you own it end to end — policy, recordkeeping, and active jobsite support — we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
- Maintain CREM's safety policies, documentation, and recordkeeping systems, and support CREM's safety-first culture company-wide
- Manage employee training files and certifications alongside broader compliance documentation
- Manage compliance dashboards and safety status within client portals (Procore, Avetta, ISNet, or similar)
- Track and report on safety performance and compliance status to leadership
- Serve as CREM's on-site safety point of contact on projects that call for it — coordinating closely with Operations
- Build and maintain project-specific Construction Safety Management Plans (CSMPs) when required
- Run pre-task planning and permit-to-work programs for high-risk activities (confined space, electrical, excavation, fall hazards, hot work, lifting/rigging, and more)
- Complete critical risk area and planned jobsite inspections on a regular cadence
- Investigate incidents and near misses, run root cause analysis, and report on defined timelines
- Represent CREM's safety program in internal and customer audits and reviews
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of safety/compliance experience, ideally including construction
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- Comfortable balancing administrative compliance work with active jobsite support
- Strong communicator — you can talk safety with a crew and write a formal report on a deadline
- CHST certification a plus; CSP a plus; familiarity with NFPA 70E/lockout-tagout a plus
Good to Know
- Regular travel, including ongoing support for the westside crew based in Longview, WA, in addition to jobsites in Kennewick and Umatilla
- Some out-of-town travel for training
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and spend time on active construction sites, including customer-controlled or operational environments
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
