Summary: A Registered Nurse (RN) at Baptist Health is accountable for utilizing the nursing process and the training provided by Baptist Health to provide safe, therapeutic, and compassionate patient care. The nurse is expected to demonstrate clinical competence and critical thinking.
Responsibilities:
1. Punctual and regular attendance.
2. Must comply with continuing education requirements for licensure retainment as well as remain current on all required competencies, including but not limited to: age specific, restraint, infection prevention, patient safety, and employee safety.
3. Maintain technical skills necessary to perform the function of the job and produce evidence of providing safe care by keeping competency records up to date.
4. Responsible to know the strategic plan for the organization and participate in its success.
5. Have an understanding of and comply with all compliance and regulatory standards, including quality measures, Medicare requirements, and department specific requirements.
6. Assess clinical and psychological patients needs, while providing patient-centered, outcomes-focused care for the patients in your care, utilizing nursing process, delegation, and coordination of multi-disciplinary patient care teams. Utilize critical thinking skills for optimal patient outcomes and efficiency.
7. Consistently meet the standard of care for the unit and organization with patient admissions, medication administration, assessments, collaboration, care coordination, and managing the patient and family transitions from one level of care to the next .
8. Consistently and efficiently manage the medical record to ensure all appropriate and necessary documentation is done efficiently and accurately, allowing for enhanced communication to and among providers of care.
9. Demonstrates professional in accordance with the Baptist Health behavior standards in relationships with physicians, families, patients, and co-workers, engaging the patient, family, and the health care team in providing the best in quality patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing in the state of Arkansas.
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 18 months of Registered Nurse experience required, including one year in the specialty applied for.
- Specialty units require and will provide specific specialized education.
- Healthcare CPR certification required. Some areas may require ACLS, PALS, and/or NALS (training provided).
- Required to float within the specialty or across campuses no more than 30 miles from the home campus
