Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian. This full-time position involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality work, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; dust and wipe down surfaces, including furniture and fixtures.
- Empty trash receptacles and recycle bins, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
- Maintain and restock cleaning supplies and materials as needed.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events and activities.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities as required.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other custodial staff and school personnel to achieve cleanliness and safety standards.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items and perform physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
- Must be able to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
