Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing essential care and support to individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through patient observation, assistance with daily activities, and fostering independence. This role requires a strong sense of empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Assist clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Observe and document client behavior and progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
- Engage clients in recreational activities that promote social interaction and skill development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards within the group home setting.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Strong skills in patient observation and direct support techniques.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical needs effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others succeed.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by client needs.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications related to caregiving are a plus.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
