Recreation Host - Makai Pool (Full-time)
Role Overview
The Recreation Host - Makai Pool position at The Club at Kukui'ula serves as a point of contact for club members and guests upon their arrival at the pool. This position is also responsible for providing exceptional service to club members and guests while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming pool environment. The position ensures the pool deck, furniture, and recreational areas are consistently maintained to the highest standards and supports the overall member and guest experience through attentive and professional service.
This role requires a charismatic and welcoming demeanor while assisting with pool services, opening and closing duties, and facility maintenance. The Recreation Host - Makai Pool plays a dynamic role by contributing to various club programs and activities as necessary. These offerings are presented as both scheduled calendar events and personalized booked services, enhancing the experience for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of pool decks, beach area, furniture, and surrounding areas throughout each shift.
- Set up and arrange daily the pool furniture, umbrellas, and equipment; store items properly at close, rake the beach at close.
- Perform routine visual checks of pool conditions and report maintenance issues to the Manager promptly.
- Stock and organize towels, sunscreen stations, and other guest amenities.
- Respond to member needs and requests courteously, escalating concerns to management when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, greet members and guests with a charismatic and welcoming attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings during peak season.
- Prior customer service or hospitality experience a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Flexibility to actively participate in diverse club programming and activities
- Ability to coordinate calendar events and offer personalized services
Requirements
- Adequate physical fitness to manage the demands of an outdoor, fast-paced role
- Demands continuous physical presence and walking large pool areas all day
- Comfortable working near and around water
- Strong teamwork and service orientation
- Effective communication with both members and colleagues
- Capability to collaborate across multiple departments
- Preferred background in an active lifestyle with a passion for engaging with Members and Guests.
Salary Range
$22.31 to $26.25 USD hourly
