Summary:
The Product Engineer will manage multiple projects at one time. They will provide direction for product routing, work instructions, and product-related issues. They will also assist Production personnel, Doc Control, Planners and Process Engineers with legacy/production/NPI builds. This position requires interfacing with Program Managers and customers as needed.
Qualifications/Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial).
· Project Management minor and/or experience, a plus.
· 3 years minimum of industry experience is preferred.
· Understands a sense of urgency regarding Engineering builds, issue resolution and production demands.
· Experience with all aspects of printed circuit board assembly build processes, specifically within the defense/aerospace and medical industries preferred.
· Strong problem solving and computer skills using Microsoft Office a must.
· Ability to understand customer specifications, and internal company process layout / process flow requirements..
· Ability to prepare and present clear and concise status for builds requiring Engineering interaction on a daily basis for all assigned products.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization in English.
· US Citizenship required.
Responsibilities:
· Engineering Point of Contact for assigned legacy/production/NPI products from kick off to completion of builds.
· Work closely with all departments daily to resolve issues to keep legacy/production/NPI builds on schedule.
· Actively identify and implement process improvements to streamline the assembly process from kick off to job release.
· Manage daily status of typically 15 to 20 products at one time.
· Take part in kick off meetings to review product requirements and identify possible issues and/or discrepancies in the customer documentation.
· Assists in investigating component, PCB and/or material issues holding up NPI builds working with Production, Engineering and Purchasing as needed to drive resolution.
· Develop rework instructions / travelers for RMA and customer paid rework jobs
· Assists with customer CAPA (Corrective Actions/Preventive Actions) and/or 8D responses.
· Assists with developing and maintaining PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) for site or product levels.
· Creates and maintains related processes and procedures as needed.
· Willingness to work on all assigned duties to support the team and company goals.
· Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager / Director, Department Manager / Director, or member of Executive Staff.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typical of a manufacturing setting where hazardous materials may be present. Security investigations may be conducted to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or work areas.
· Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced team environment.
· Salary position, occasional overtime may be required.
· Some of the job duties may require sitting for long periods of time.
