American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a CVICU night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and Epic experience.

Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a teaching hospital
-
Estimated patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2
-
13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
-
36 hours per week schedule
-
Weekday shifts with up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday for night shift)

Rotating holiday coverage required
-
Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level

Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
-
2 years of Cardiac ICU experience preferred
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Previous travel experience preferred

Skills required: IV starts, telemetry, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pump management, and arterial line management
-
Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted

Provide direct patient care to critically ill cardiovascular patients including post cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement cases
-
Manage patients with mechanical circulatory support devices such as IABP, Impella, and VAD as applicable
-
Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
-
Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and manage IV insulin protocols
-
Care for ventilated patients and manage respiratory interventions such as BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula

Complete mandatory Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract, which may require travel to a designated location
-
RTO must be submitted with the contract and is limited to 7 days or less
-
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of the health system are ineligible for this traveler position
