Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu plans.
- Assist with meal service, ensuring proper food handling, safety, and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Support classroom activities by helping with daily routines, including supervising children during meals and snack times.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation protocols.
- Assist in developing engaging activities that incorporate healthy eating education and promote positive social interactions around food.
- Support the overall well-being of children by providing attentive care, encouragement, and fostering a nurturing environment.
- Take direction well
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a childcare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with kitchen operations in settings such as restaurants or catering environments is beneficial.
- Excellent knife skills, meal preparation techniques, and familiarity with culinary standards in the food industry.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
