About Us:
Women in Film & Video (WIFV), based in Washington DC, provides educational and
networking opportunities for screen-based media makers, celebrates women’s creative
and technical achievements in media, and advocates for parity both in front of and
behind the camera to ensure that all voices can be heard.
WIFV is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community benefit organization founded in 1979 and is
the premier professional resource for people who want successful media careers in the
DC-metro region. Our resources, connections, and advocacy support a vibrant, creative
media community.
Position Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Program & Office Coordinator is a professional full-time position which includes
responsibility for coordinating membership administration, professional program
support, social media oversight, and general office functions including bookkeeping
and policy support.
Reporting to the Executive Director, this role contributes to WIFV's work to improve
parity in front of and behind the camera and support independent screen-based media
makers by performing the following Essential Functions:
Programming:
Assists with program promotion to internal and external audiences including posting
to WIFV website and social media.
Assists with online events as needed including login reminders for registered guests,
editing program chat notes, and post-mortem reporting.
Assists with on-site event management including registration, guest relations,
preparation of materials, oversight of reception, technology, and post-event reports.
Coordinates Programming Committee decisions with the program provisions.
Works with interns and volunteers as directed by Executive Director.
Assists with website content updates, monthly newsletters, and Monday Missives.
Membership:
Handles day-to-day needs of members including communication with individuals
regarding membership.
Maintains the membership database and physical files.
Activates membership benefits.
Drafts membership emails, letters, and other member communications in support of
the Executive Director.
Administrative:
Performs administrative functions related to general office management, including
answering phones and returning calls as needed, filing receipts and paperwork,
organizing electronic files, and proofing/formatting documents.
Provides normal maintenance of office systems and technology.
Oversight of visual archives.
Drafts administrative emails and communications in support of the Exec. Director.
Provides bookkeeping support in QuickBooks Online including recording deposits,
entering invoices, and organizing monthly financial reports including Accounts
Payable reports.
Liaison between WIFV Treasurer, Executive Director, and outside accounting firm for
financial reporting needs.
Assist with grant reporting by organizing financial information.
Qualifications:
BA degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Membership and/or non-profit organization experience preferred.
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred experience with QuickBooks Online.
Detail-oriented with strong administrative and customer service skills.
Eagerness to meet diverse membership needs in a professional manner.
Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
Flexibility, with prior notice, to work varied hours (some evenings, early mornings,
weekends) in support of program events.
Knowledge and/or passion for the screen-based media industry.
Lives in the Washington DC area to meet onsite and in-person work requirements.
Salary: $65,000 starting salary with annual review.

Paid time off for Federal Holidays.
10 days of additional personal paid time off (PTO).
Additionally, WIFV is closed between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
$100 monthly Metro stipend.
$200 monthly health insurance reimbursement.
