Purpose of Job
The purpose of this classification is to maintain accurate record keeping of financial transactions for the Knox County Chancery Court.
Essential Functions

Prepare and process payroll;
-
Maintain, reconcile, and analyze bank accounts, cash receipts journal, registry funds, as well as subsidiary ledgers; and prepare reports;

Design, develop, and maintain spreadsheets and other software programs for analyzing financial information;

Perform basic A/P and A/R duties;
-
Assist in internal and external audits, forecasting, and budgeting;

Interact with attorneys, parties, and coworkers;
-
Respond to information requests about financial matters;

Adhere to internal controls for disbursements, transfers, recording, and reporting of monies.
Additional Job Functions

Ensure punctual attendance during scheduled work hours;

Coordinate work efforts with other deputy clerks;

Assist with other duties as requested.
Minimum Training & Qualifications
-
Five years of accounting experience required; governmental accounting required;
-
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred;
-
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered for employment into the position.
Specialized Knowledge
-
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel;
-
Basic skill level in Adobe Office Suite.

Adapts to new software platforms, system upgrades, and integrated technologies implemented by the Clerk and Master.

Participates in required training and maintains proficiency in technology necessary to support efficient court operations.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to engage in occasional, moderate physical activity. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
