Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Emergency Room (ER) care to join our healthcare team for a dynamic assignment in Moses Lake, WA. This role involves providing high-quality emergency medical services in a fast-paced hospital environment, ensuring prompt and effective patient care during day and mid-shift hours. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Administer emergency treatments such as IV infusions, suturing, airway management, and medication administration following aseptic techniques.
- Operate and document using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and Cerner to ensure accurate medical records management.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, radiology procedures such as CT scans, and cardiac catheterization support.
- Provide acute pain management, trauma care, and participate in trauma medicine protocols within Level I or Level II trauma center environments.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patients continuously using telemetry systems; respond swiftly to emergent situations such as cardiac arrests or respiratory distress.
- Support triage processes by prioritizing patient needs efficiently in the emergency department setting.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Engage in ongoing education related to infectious disease control, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and hospital medicine standards.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current state licensure in Washington or the ability to obtain licensure promptly.
- Minimum of two years of recent emergency room experience in a hospital setting; experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Strong knowledge of critical care procedures including ventilator management, airway management, and neonatal resuscitation procedures.
- Experience with advanced diagnostics like sonography or laboratory testing is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in high-stakes environments while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and sterile processing techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
