Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Surveyor to join our team and lead the critical task of land and construction surveying. In this role, you will utilize advanced surveying equipment and software to collect precise data, create detailed maps, and support project planning and execution. Responsibilities
- Operate surveying equipment such as GPS units, 3D scanners, Total Stations, and laser scanners to gather accurate field data across various terrains.
- Conduct boundary surveys, ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), topographic mapping, and construction surveys with precision.
- Prepare detailed drawings and schematics using CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, Carlson, and ArcGIS to visualize survey data effectively.
- Manage data collection processes ensuring high-quality input for project planning, legal descriptions, and construction plans.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to develop schematics, manage mapping teams, and oversee survey-related project milestones.
- Perform land surveying tasks such as boundary determination, legal descriptions preparation, and topographic mapping for construction sites.
- Maintain survey records meticulously while ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for spatial analysis and mapping purposes to support project decision-making.
- Operate surveying equipment with proficiency in Trimble, MicroStation, Carlson, and other industry-standard tools to ensure accurate data collection.
- Lead field surveying activities including GPS surveying, construction layout, managing surveying teams on-site, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in land surveying within civil engineering or construction environments is essential.
- Strong knowledge of GIS applications, 3D scanning technology, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, Carlson Software, and ArcGIS is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate advanced surveying equipment such as GPS systems (including Trimble), total stations, laser scanners, and 3D scanners.
- Solid understanding of algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and math principles relevant to accurate measurements and calculations in surveying tasks.
- Experience managing surveying teams or field crews is a plus; leadership skills are highly valued.
- Familiarity with legal land descriptions, boundary determination processes, schematic development for construction projects, and managing mapping or surveying teams.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles related to topographic mapping, construction surveys, schematics creation, and project management is desirable.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on data collection for design or layout purposes is beneficial.

Pay: $24.64 - $29.68 per hour
